Ultrabooks

Now I know that the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook is not really news, in fact it has been out for quite a while now but since I saw an add about it on TV I was interested to learn more and I figured why not share this with you?

The Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook is a relatively new laptop. It goes into the category of ultrabook laptops which are thin and light weight Windows laptops. This ultrabook in particular is 300$ cheaper than its Macintosh equivalent the Macbook air. Dell seems to beahead of the game with its ultrabook. It is said that this ultrabook is better than its ultrabook competitors because it offers the best balance of price, design, and quality.

This product is pretty stylish for a Windows notebook and has a large trackpad and a rubber palm rest. Its a pretty fast laptop as well. However the Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook and many other ultrabooks have a disadvantage to them, there is no optical drive! Apart from that, they usually have small hard drives and generally can not compete in battery life with the Macbook air.

The social issue of the digital divide and equality of access amongst people who live in a first world country can be applied to ultrabooks. Ultrabooks offer people who are not able to purchase a Macbook Air with  a light stylish and productive laptop that is very similar. This helps to minimize the digital divide and create equal access.
